6 ways to style your basic Tshirt – Ft. Kiabza

Hello beautiful people!!

Hope you guys are doing fantastic. I’ve been doing great, life has been kind.

Today I’m here to talk about something very practical that we hadn’t been doing until now. And I can totally understand why!

Me being a crazy fashion lover, I shop a lot. But when it comes to using them, I probably just use 40% of them. After sitting in my cupboard for a long time it finally gets dumped someday, adding up to the textile waste in our environment.

So, one of the easiest and logical solution is to expand the lifespan of our beloved branded clothes.

Introducing to you, the brand that has taken the initiative to bring this change in our ever growing society – Kiabza, the online fashion store for preowned branded clothing. You can choose from an approved list of more than 1500 brands and enjoy guilt-free fashion without harming our neighbourhood.

But that’s not the only reason why I love Kiabza & their idea. Along with being environment friendly it also gives me an opportunity to make some cash out of my old branded clothes, which otherwise simply had no ROI for me.

Though this concept is very much accepted in the west, in our country we somehow hesitate or resist the idea of preowned clothing. When I heard about this idea, the first thing that came to my mind was “hygiene”! Being a daughter of a hygiene OCD father, I couldn’t help this thought. However, when I understood the entire post processing of the clothes that reach Kiabza warehouse, I was blown away. Their process of treating the clothes before putting up for sale is so detailed that even I don’t take care of my clothes so much. Everything that’s up on their website goes through a thorough quality check, which just makes it all so much better!

So, today I’m going to share 6 ways to style a basic old navy tee, that I received from Kiabza!

Let’s get started..

Look 1:

Starting the first look with simply adding a black wide belt on my upper waist to highlight the smallest part of my body. Pairing it up with black basic denims. Chose to go with a top bun to make the earrings more visible.

Look 2:

In this one I wore the basic tee with a pinafore skirt, keeping it very simple and adding a pop of fuchsia pink on my lips.

Look 3:

Wearing the basic tee with blue polka dot denims and blue heels, keeping a monochrome feel. The star of this look is the black bum bag/ fanny pack that is so in these days.

Look 4:

For this look I thought of wearing the tee over a straight cut satin slit dress. Created a rose knot with the tee to instantly give it a crop top look.

Look 5:

This look is somehow inspired by “Geet” from Jab we met. The whole tshirt over dhoti pants vibe. Just added a denim waistcoat to give it a indo western feel.

Look 6:

For the last one, I wore it over a black flare laced dress. Secured the tee on the waist with my fav silver heart shaped ring. It accentuates the waistline and brings out the flare at the bottom more prominently.

I had a lot of fun creating these looks and I love each and every one of them. The whole idea behind creating different looks from a single clothing is to create more awareness towards sustainable clothing. We all love to shop but if you see closely, your wardrobe already has so many pieces that you can use in multiple ways for different occasions.

Kiabza on the other hand is doing pretty much the same by giving us a platform to exchange our love for branded clothing.

Recycling is a great way to spread happiness in affordable prices, therefore making the most of our good quality branded clothes that don’t deserve to die in our closet.

If this made you think about buying preloved clothing, then you should head straight to the link below –

3 ways to style a linen saree – Part 2

Hello my beautiful friends, hope you all are doing fantastic! 😘

Thank you for all your love for styling the linen saree part 1! And I’m back with the part 2!! These looks are mostly for “Evening” functions and parties.🤩

So, let’s start..

Look 1 :

This one is with a simple black bralette (Lately I’ve been going overboard with bralettes). Accessorised with a black clutch. Wore this beautiful silver neckpiece to break the monochrome tone. 🖤

Look 2 :

This look is obviously inspired by Gujarati stitches and handicrafts.

I had a lot of room to play with colours and patterns as the saree was so simple. Wore the saree with a waistcoat. Accessorised with earrings and purse of similar fabric and tones. 💜

Look 3 :

This is definitely my favourite out of all. Love how it turned out to be. I was very confused while imagining it but the final result looks great! I added a long shrug from a kurti and palazzo set. Accessorised with a cute and colourful potli bag. Kept minimal jewellery as the shrug was the hero of the show! 😄

All these looks in part 1 as well as part 2 are very much practical and are wearable in various occasions. Everything I’ve styled the saree with are very easily available in the Indian markets.

Hope you guys liked these looks.♥️

3 ways to style a linen saree – Part 1

Hello beautiful people,

Hope you guys are doing fantastic!

Today’s post is about styling a simple saree in multiple ways. There were so many looks I could think of that I had to divide this in two parts. So, today I’m gonna talk about 3 different “day looks” with my KANAKRUST linen saree.

Before we get into the looks I want to tell you guys about this brand “Kanakrust”. It’s a brand from pune that creates customised ethnic outfits & sarees, and delivers pan India. I love the quality of the saree and the fact that it’s so simple and versatile. To place your order you can drop a direct message on their Instagram page, of which I’ll add a link at the end of the blog.

So let’s get started..

Look 1:

In this look I paired the saree with a white shirt. This look works well if you attending any formal event, visiting an art gallery, for a press conference (or if you’re running for the elections). 😄

Look 2:

In the 2nd look I’ve paired it with a yellow linen top with some mirror work to add a pop of colour. Also, draped the pallu in front to give it a more casual vibe. Added a golden belt to elaborate the waistline. This look is great for any day function like a Pooja at home or a lunch party with your family & relatives. 😍

Look 3:

This look is great to pull of at your workplace. Just throwing on a blazer gives it that corporate touch. Also added a black belt to make the whole outfit look put together. 😎

Hope you liked the looks as much as I do. And hope to see you recreating some of them.

See you in a week,

Rock your Dates with Bralettes!

Hello beautiful people,

I hope you guys are having a great week.

My today’s blog is for all you girls who can’t think of what to wear when it comes to going out on a date. Doesn’t matter if you’re going out on a first date, with someone you seeing for a while or your childhood best friend, a girl needs to look her best for it!

So, here I’m with 3 different looks for 3 different dates. The base for these looks is this beautiful laced black bralette (my latest discovery, lol!), because I feel bralettes add the perfect amount of classy & flirty at the same time.

Lets get started ..

Movie Date :

Here I’ve styled the bralette with denim on denim and some pop of colour with the earrings and heels. The bootcut denims give it a retro cinema vibe, the jacket just in case the AC is set too low and the clear aviators for some drama. 😄

Brunch Date :

For this look I wore the bralette on top of a satin white shirt and I love how this look turned out to be. Paired it up with a sassy asymmetrical printed skirt and pointy heels. So simple yet so stylish! 😍

Clubbing Date :

This is a classic club night look with all black and glitter. Paired the beautiful laced bralette with a black bodycon skirt with sequin work and a all sequin crop jacket. For footwear I chose these classy satin olive green heels, it adds the elegance to the hotness of the outfit. 😉

Hope you guys love the looks as much as I loved creating them. Do share your pics whenever you try out any of these styles.

That’s all for today. See you in a fortnight.

Until then, keep it stylish!😘

How to wear the NEON?!

⚠️ Warning – The following content may be disrupting to you eyes! You may consider wearing some fancy shades.

Hello, beautiful people!! Hope you guys are doing great. 😍

I’m back with some bright bling and yes! It’s all about the NEON trend!!!! 🤩

So, neon is a 80’s retro trend that is back with a bang for the fashionable millennials and it is here to stay. You can literally see it everywhere – runways, movies, TV and music. As it is such a fun and playful colour you can style a neon outfit for every occasion, be it for party, work, gym or casual athleisure.

I pulled off a ‘All in Neon’ look for a recent fashion event and thought of curating some neon styles for anyone and everyone to enjoy this crazy trend this season. ‘Coz, if not now then when?!

Hyper Neon :

Going all in with neon is a bold step. The coming two looks might not be for everyone. But if you’re a risk taker and love experimenting with styles then you should totally go for it!

Look 1 –

Paired up this neon lime dress with pastel pink sling bag & heeled mules for a sassy look.

Look 2 –

Here I teamed up the neon dress with a denim jacket & a pair of white sneakers for a sporty look.

Subtle Neon :

If you don’t want to go overboard with neon, you can keep it subtle by wearing either a neon top or bottom.

Look 1 –

Animal print neon is super in. Yes! We all saw how Deepika Padukone slayed that look at Cannes fest.

Look 2 –

Yes, the craze is mostly about neon lime or neon green but if you’re a pink fan, go add that neon pink in your outfits.

Hint of Neon :

If you’re not a loud person and like to keep it simple, you can add just a bit of neon to your outfits by going for a neon accessory, like a bag, jewellery, belt, etc.

Neon earrings –

Neon shades –

Neon bag –

Neon is a gender neutral hue and is going strong in menswear as well. It’s graphic, geometric and it resonates with the digital age setting it for a futuristic mood!

So go grab your neons and be your unapologetic self! 😘

See you in a fortnight..

Until then, keep it stylish! 😎

Styling my beach dress for the city life..

Hello my beautiful friends, I hope you guys are doing amazing!

Today I’m going to style something a lil off the beat. I’m sure we all have those pretty beach dresses that we never wear after getting back to our city lives. I have a few too, and I so wanted to somehow wear them more often than just vacays. So, today I’m going to style my white beach dress in 3 different everyday wearable ways.

Look 1 – The Free Spirit

For the first look I’ve styled the dress with a white shirt which I’m wearing underneath the dress. I’ve accessorised it with a black wide belt, which also went well with the black boots that I chose to wear. The entire look turned out to be very fresh and comfortable with a bit of rustic touch. 😇

Look 2 – The Boss Lady

For this look I styled the dress with a vibrant pink and red blazer, this colour combo is so in this season!! I got the blazer from ‘Only’ and I totally love it. I also added a wide belt on my higher waist to make the look put together. It’s a vibrant, fun yet a Bawse like look. 😎

Look 3 – The Coffee Lover

This is definitely my favourite look out of the three (though it’s very hard to choose). Here I’m wearing a black sheer shirt with a knot, to define the waist. Paired it up with these orange heels from Zara (very comfortable) and this orange bag, to add a pop of colour to the black & white. In love with this look, so simple yet so chic! 😍

I’ve been thinking of creating something interesting with this white dress since a long time and finally it’s up here! Really excited to know your thoughts on this post.

That’s all for today, see you guys in a fortnight.

Until then, keep it stylish! 😘

Red-Hot Looks

Hello, my beautiful friends!

As promised I’m back with another exciting post. I want to start with my obsession with the colour black (if you consider it as a colour) since my teenage. I was so driven towards gothic punk looks that I missed out on the vibrant colours most of the time. However, eventually I realised how amazing my soul feels when I wear bright vibrant colours. And then RED became the new black for me. This colour makes me feel bold & fun at the same time. If you’re a lively & convivial person I’m sure you love it too. The good news is, red hot looks are super in this season. So, in today’s post I’m going to share a glam way of styling the RED and a street style look.

Here we go..

Glam Red –

Here I’m wearing a cloak sleeve surplice wrap bodycon dress by Shein. Paired it up with metallic silver heels by Tresmode.

I went for a red clutch instead of any contrast as monochromes are trending this season. The clutch has a metallic silver outline that went well with my shoes and the neck piece.

I added a statement neckpiece for a minimal and elegant look. They say, less is more! Totally live by it. The lights were not in my favour yet tried my best to bring out the most real version of the look to you guys.

This look is perfect for a date night or a red carpet kinda occasion.

Street Style Red –

This one is a very comfortable street style look. I am wearing a flare dress by Asos that makes the whole look very casual. The jacket on the waist is to give a structure to the dress. Sporting this look with my Fila white sneakers.

I bought this very light knitted zip jacket from a local market in Bangalore. The hood and the star pattern gives it a young funky vibe. These lovely pictures are being shot by Alok Mantri, a friend and a very talented photographer. I had a lot of fun shooting this outfit. Looking forward to creating more creative content with him.

Linking his Instagram account below, go check him out!

And this picture officially has all my hearts!👇🏻👇🏻👇🏻

In love with the whole composition of the pic. Lemme know your views about this pic in the comments below.

This colour has been everywhere in stores and online. The best part about red is it needs very minimal styling as the colour itself is so extravagant. Creating these looks were very easy, comfortable, affordable yet so stylish.

That’s all for today. Coming up with a lot of interesting content ahead.

Until then, keep it stylish! 😉

Summer LookBook 2.0

This season I’m going overboard with PINK! This pink has many names – blush pink, nude pink, millennial pink, whatever you choose to call it, it’s super lit this summer. Below I’m sharing three ways to style this pretty colour.

Look 1:

Paired this blush pink velvet top with these high waist boot cut denims from Shein. Denims have always been the most convenient wear in my wardrobe and since the 90s boot cut (flare hem) jeans are back in trend, I’m falling in love with it all over again!

Bottom – https://api-shein.shein.com/h5/sharejump/appsharejump?currency=INR&lan=en&id=645380&share_type=goods&site=iosshin

Look 2:

Next up is this super trendy nude pink pleated skirt. You definitely won’t want to miss out on this trend this season. It’s a perfect blend of street style and sophistication. You can style it for almost every occasion. It’s longer length creates a beautiful silhouette that suits every figure. Paired it with a basic white tee from Zara.

Look 3:

The shirt dress has been in trend from past few years. Everyone’s been loving it for its easy breezy comfy style. It’s very important to look for one according to your body type. Slim or straight figures should go with A-line skirt whereas curvy figures may go with more fuller skirt style. I chose to style it with my basic white sneakers for a casual look. The baby pink colour makes it look even more summery and light.

Pink has made it to everyone’s heart since the 2019 Oscars red carpet. All shades of pink are trending big time, mostly the loud ones. Pink monochrome has been the most trending way to style it. However, it might not be an option for everyone. So I thought of pairing up some subtle pinks with other basic colours for a more ‘everyday wearable’ way.

That’s about it for today. See you in a fortnight.

Until then, keep it stylish!😘

Summer LookBook 1.0

Hello! My lovelies.. It took me a month to come up with my 2nd post. But I promise these 3 Indo-Western summer looks are gonna make it an easy and comfortable summer for you, while keeping it stylish!

So, my Mom sent me a package full of summer goodies on the eve of Rongali Bihu (Assamese new year). There were these pretty looking comfortable tops which I wanted to pair with stylish bottom wear, and how could I not share these incredibly beautiful looks with you guys.

So, let’s start..

I totally loved how these looks turned out to be. I love the fact that they are so easy, comfortable & affordable yet giving a chic stylish look. It’s not necessary to spend a lot of money on shiny, shimmery, glittery outfits to look stylish. Moreover, all these clothes are “made in India”, which itself implies that we don’t need to look out for imported brands when we have high quality fabric & excellent skills in our own country. All these outfits are mostly cotton & linen which are best for a sunny or humid weather.

That’s pretty much it for today. Coming up with another interesting post in a fortnight.

So, stay tuned..

Until then, keep it stylish! 😉

Pump up your styling game this wedding season

Hey guys,
I’d like to start with thanking you for dropping by on my first blog post!
I’ve been wanting to do this since a long time. I never really got on to it because of multiple reasons. I was waiting for a perfect time and the perfect content to start with. But lately I’ve realized, the perfect time is NOW!
So here I share my first blog post about how I styled myself for my bff’s big fat Indian wedding.
It was a two day affair with four different functions. Below I’m gonna share my four different looks that you can try in the next upcoming Indian wedding on your list.

Look 1: Haldi ceremony

For the first outfit I chose to wear this beautiful Bandhani print lehenga that I got from a traditional wear store in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. It’s an orange and sky blue ombré lehenga with little mirror handwork. And I teamed it up with a red bandhani print dupatta just to make it more bright and colourful.

I accessorised it with simple sky blue tassel earrings which are so in these days. Kept the make up very minimal to give the bright colours the front stage.

Look 2: Sangeet night

For the sangeet I chose a black raw silk lehenga with ethnic embroidered zari work because it looked so gorgeous and gave a princess feel. The entire lehenga had a golden zari work from top to bottom hence I paired it up with a black netted lace dupatta for some contrast.

As it was an evening function I wanted an evening party make up look. This look was created by my school friend Bidisha. She is a professional make up artist and she made the bride (& me too) look so flawlessly beautiful. To check out more of her stunning work you can click on the direct link to her FB page below:

For the eyes we chose a gold smoky eye. For the lips I went with red. This is a Mac ruby woo which I’m totally in love with. I accessorized the outfit with golden stone earrings.

Look 3: Mehendi ceremony

This is one of my favourite looks that I pulled off. Something unconventional, bold, yet so ethnic. I chose a yellow netted saree with white base floral embroidery for a statement mehendi look. I paired it up with a white sequin peplum party top. It gave the bright yellow a slight tone down and also went well with the white embroidery work on the saree. I draped the saree in a dhoti style as the dhoti look has been in trend since a couple of years now and undoubtedly growing bigger.
I wore a pair of golden wedge heels that went well with the golden saree Patti and accessorized with the blue tassel earrings that matched the tiny blue floral detailing on the saree. Just to make it a fun look I wore a traditional head gear (Safa). It really did add a bold yet fun feel to the whole outfit.
Girls, if you wanna know how I draped my saree comment below!

Look 4: The Wedding Day

For the big day I wanted to keep it classy and elegant. I chose to stick to my roots and flaunt this graceful Mekhela Chador (traditional assamese dress). It’s made of Pat silk (one of the three types of indigenous wild silk produced in Assam) with Guna work (Golden thread). It is originally white or off white in colour, then dyed in different colourful variants. In India, this type of wild silk is only cultivated in Assam.

I accessorized it with these black and golden statement earrings, a golden stone work bangle, golden statement finger ring and a golden potli bag with colourful floral embroidery. I like to keep my make up as natural as possible with the least number of cosmetics used. Hence, kept it simple on the eyes. This time I wore a deeper shade of red on the lips to give it a sophisticated look.

Bonus pic just for the beautiful artistic overused background

I had a great time creating these looks, I hope you guys would try them too. Overall it was one of the best weddings I have ever attended. The stay in Hotel Maurya, Patna was lavish and exquisite. The food, the people & the place changed my entire perception about the state. Even though it was a dry state, it didn’t treat us with any lesser entertainment. And to mention the highlight of the show, the Bride left in a Chopper!
Before you leave, do drop me a comment with your feedback. Criticisms are welcome 🙂
Signing off, until next time!
